The goal of the SBAC® training in Argumentation writing is to provide teachers with strategies, differentiation techniques, models, and graphic organizers to teach their students improved and results-oriented writing skills, reading skills, and overall test scores.
Participants will learn how to navigate through the SBAC writing assessment using the Jane Schaffer® architecture to better prepare students for test day. Participants will learn to teach strategies to 1) decode writing prompts for clear understanding of the questions to be answered; 2) brainstorm and develop an engaging idea reflecting depth of thought with specific details, examples, and commentary; and 3) execute the planning into a focused, structured, and coherent piece of writing. JSWP structure of writing and thinking helps students through a stressful test situation.
